Pickleball in Paradise!

Create your own Pickleball Camp in Costa Rica. PPR Certified instructors Nic Radisay and Rich Roe have worked together for several retreats and everyone always has a blast. We bring our wives (who also play), and the four of us love hosting groups. Get 6-8 of your friends together and we will customize your ideal vacation.

We will design a custom itinerary for you. Most groups want to play every day, and we have 2 private courts at our disposal. Nic and I use a variety or teaching techniques from drills, liveball, round robin and tournament play. More than just pickleball, we are there to have fun! We will probably be spending a lot of time at our private Beach Club with it’s multiple pools, restaurant and bar. In addition, the food is amazing, the people are friendly and pretty soon you’ll be living the “pura vida” lifestyle that makes Costa Rica so wonderful.

Our town of Las Catalinas is truly amazing. You will feel like you are in the hillside towns of Italy with the cobblestone streets and beautiful architecture. Even more unique, Las Catalinas is a “car-free” town and most everything is within a 5-minute walk. The house is 1 minute from many restaurants, 2 minutes from the beach, and 5 minutes from the Beach Club. For noise purposes, the 2 community pickleball courts are about 3/4 mile away, and we provide car service for those that don’t want to walk there.

Furthermore, you can customize your experience by joining excursions like paddleboarding, ziplining, surfing or shopping. Don’t worry, you will still have plenty of time to go to the beach or get a massage. Zero planning needed on your part, just sign up and have fun! You will be staying in one of several luxury properties in the resort community of Las Catalinas. This coastal town is right on the Guanacaste coast and is less than an hour from Liberia International Airport. The best season for dry weather is early December though early April. However, Costa Rica is beautiful most of the year, so if you don’t mind a little tropical weather, all except September and October can work.

We have rented a 4-bedroom house in the resort town of Las Catalinas. Less than 100 yards from the Pacific Ocean, each room has AC, WI-FI, linens, soaps…Tastefully designed, the house has a small pool, full kitchen, washer/dryer, and housekeeping twice during your stay.

Sign up early for room preference. Rooms are assigned in order of registration.

Nic Radisay

Coach Nicolas “Nic” Radisay and his wife Jenny have resided in Laguna Beach since 1996, during which they raised their two children who competed in various sports. It didn’t take much to enlist their dad as coach.

Coach Nic earned his title as assistant coach to both the LBHS Boys & Girls Tennis Teams where he helped lead the players to various CIF team & individual victories.

Coach Nic specializes in adapting tennis skills to pickleball, where he continuously witnesses both novice and experienced players ignite their game through improved technique & tactics.

Rich Roe

Rich, owner of Costa Rica Retreats, is certified Pickleball Coach and an avid player. He has been a certified personal trainer since 1994 and taught over 10,000 1- sessions and numerous classes to celebrities, rock stars, and fortune 500 execs.  He worked in the world famous Rancho La Puerta spa in Mexico and participated in some exercise videos. Previously he owned a gym in San Diego for 10 years and now splits his time between Laguna Beach, California and Costa Rica.

Rich is an experienced guide who has been leading retreats since 2015. When not leading retreats, he’s playing pickleball, teaching pickleball, hiking, mountain biking or traveling the world. As a Wilderness First Responder and formerly on the San Diego Mountain rescue team, you are in good hands with Rich.
